The Clocks Go Back: Your Winter Hair Reset Checklist

On Sunday 25th October the clocks go back an hour, and with them comes darker evenings, colder mornings and the heating going on full time. It's the perfect moment to give your hair extensions a quick seasonal reset.
Use that extra hour to work through this checklist. Most of it takes just a few minutes, and it will set your extensions up to stay soft, smooth and tangle-free all winter.

Your winter hair reset checklist
[ ] Book your next maintenance appointment. Winter brings more tangling at the nape and attachment points. Get your next appointment in the diary now, especially if you want your hair looking its best for the party season.
[ ] Swap to your winter wash routine. Move to a hydrating, sulphate-free shampoo and a richer conditioner. Add a weekly deep-conditioning mask to the lengths, keeping it away from your bonds, tapes or wefts.
[ ] Check your heat protectant. If the bottle is nearly empty or past its best, replace it now. You'll be reaching for the hairdryer more than ever.
[ ] Clean your brushes and tools. Remove trapped hair and product build-up from your extension brush and wipe down your straighteners and tongs. A clean brush glides through the hair rather than snagging it.
[ ] Switch to a silk or satin pillowcase. It reduces friction and helps your hair hold on to its moisture overnight. If you already have one, give it a fresh wash.
[ ] Line your winter accessories. Wool against the hair causes static and knots, so choose silk-lined options or tuck your hair into a silk scarf.
[ ] Stock up on overnight essentials. Soft scrunchies or silk hair ties for your bedtime plait, plus an extension-safe oil for the ends.
[ ] Do a quick hair health check. Brush through gently, section by section. Look for small knots near the attachment points, any bonds or tapes that feel loose or dry. If anything feels off, mention it to your stylist.
