So, by now you probably know all about our hair extensions at Spectrum One. You know they’re made of double-drawn, ethically sourced human hair that’s gently treated. You also know that they’re expertly applied by our trained stylists for a look that leaves people guessing. You know a lot.
This is all well and good, but recently we’ve been thinking about something you don’t know; the one thing that we haven’t shared with our lovely customers. So, what have we been hiding? Well, let us tell you...
Let Us Show You How It’s Done
By the time this post is live on our website, the Spectrum One Training Academy will be up and running. How exciting!
That’s right – we’re opening our very own training academy. How very fancy! This is because we realised that we want to share our extension-styling knowledge with you lovely bunch of budding hairstylists. Because it would just be selfish to keep it to ourselves!
We’re going to be teaching you everything we know about extensions, including application, styling and aftercare. At the helm of the academy will be Spectrum One’s very own Katy Grimshaw; founder and award-winning educator. If you didn’t spot the last post, she’s just been nominated for the It List Awards, so you’ll be learning from one of the best young stylist in the UK! Here’s what the lady herself has to say about the new training:
“These courses are designed to complement our range of SPECTRUM ONE Hair Extensions and will give hairdressers of all levels the opportunity to engage in high-standard training and education in a professional and friendly environment.”
We couldn’t have put it better ourselves!
So, let’s get down to it. What does the course entail? Well, it depends on what days you choose to attend. Our Complete Spectrum Weave Course has lessons on sectioning, micro-ring threading and application, loop and sew technique, blending, cutting and aftercare. We also offer other courses including our Spectrum Weave and I-Tip Refresher Day and the Ultimate I-Tip Course (for beginners).
We currently have two-day courses available, too (you don’t have to attend both days) at the price of £890. The first day has already been – it was on the 9th July – for the Spectrum Weave training, with the second part for Ultimate I-Tip held on 17th July. The two days are repeated on 13th August (Spectrum Weave) and 14th August 2017 (Ultimate I-Tip) so get booking if you want to come down!
The end aim of these courses is to pass the knowledge of Katy and our team on to you. As long as you have a minimum of an NVQ Level 2, we don’t mind who comes along! You could be just stepping into the hairstyling industry fresh out of college or already have a salon of your own. Basically, we know what we’re doing, which is why our salon’s getting noticed in the hairstyling industry, and we want to share that with all of you!
The course will be held at our gorgeous Spectrum One Salon in Haslingden, Rossendale. You can find the exact address on our website (it’s at the bottom of the page on the right-hand corner!).
You’ll be provided with a full kit and usually the models hair too (though double-check this just in-case your course requires the purchase of hair). If you ask really nicely and in plenty of time then we might be able to sort you out with a model, though it’s a good idea to have someone in mind you can bring before you book!
And don’t forget, if you have your own model, you can always ask them to contribute a little bit towards the extensions and style and put it towards the course; after all, they’ll be getting a fabulous hair do out of it. You see, we’re always thinking - just another little money-saving tip!
You can book the courses online, or if you prefer you can drop us an email or give us a call on the details below to arrange your place. But be quick – we’re not exaggerating when we say they fill up really fast!
