Gorgeous Up Dos for Long Hair

We don’t know about you, but festive fever is setting in at Spectrum One already! Maybe it’s because we get to hear all about our lovely clients Christmas plans, or it could be because we have already seen the Coca Cola advert - holidays are coming! It won’t be long until party season is in full swing with the work do, catching up with friends and of course the ‘just one drink’ after work night out. You’re going to need fab hair for seasonal socialising, with some easy and fast styles to take you from office appropriate to party ready. So switch Netflix off and hold off on the onesies just yet - we have got some top long hair tips to take you through the festive season!

Easy Party Hair

Unplanned night outs are always the best, but we have all felt that little ‘what am I going to do with my hair?!’ panic haven’t we? The fastest and easiest way to manage hair extensions when you don’t have your full kit to hand is an up do. There are a couple of things you can keep in your handbag, or desk at work to whip up an emergency hairstyle: kirby grips, dry shampoo and a tail comb. This three items are infinitely useful! We have found four styles you can put together in a jiffy.

Messy Plaits

Plaits are an easy way to add interest to your hair and can be done tonnes of different ways. A classic side French plait, or plait down to the ears and put the rest in a bun or pony. We like to keep it slightly messy looking, so it doesn’t look like you are off to school!

Top Bun

One of the easiest and fastest ways to tame your long hair, a high bun looks sleek and sophisticated. Not to be confused with a messy bun, a neatly done top knot and a little black dress is a great look to take you from the office, straight to dinner.

French Twist

A French twist might require a little bit of pre-practice, but once you know how, it’s a very easy hairstyle to achieve when you are in a pinch. Use a tail comb to gently backcomb your hair to achieve lots of volume.

High Pony

A high ponytail looks really cute and is suitable for long hair. We love Ariana Grande’s signature look, what’s good enough for Ariana is good enough for us, right? Just remember to keep a little bit of hair out to wrap around your ponytail, it keeps the style looking more like a ‘style’ and less like you have just come from the gym!
